I'm assuming from that you mean it went that the Jews were too Jewish to understand Jesus.

Assume and you make an ass out of both you and me.

I did not say what you only assume, nor would I ever be that stupid.

Try actually reading what's written, without assuming anything. You'll never gain any understanding of the Bible without that skill.
