Dude's window got broken, speakers shot out, and a Karen from across the alley called the cops for the racist comments being shouted from the speakers. It illustrated two things; first the cops didn't give a shit about drugs, prostitution, rape, robbery, assaults, etc. but wrote a ticket to the tenant for noise ordinance violations.
And second, the alley saw a drop off in traffic. The criminals avoided that area at night just from being heckled.
I'm finding something similar in my area; homeless people don't come back to areas when you clean up the mess they make. You might get new ones, from time to time, but the ones who made the original mess never come back.
