a) Atone implies at (towards) one (single unit)...not being in accordance with one another. Atonement implies ones mind resisting the temptation to accord (consent) with another (suggestion), which allows one to be at (perceivable) one (perception).
b) Yom aka day implies "daze" aka ones bewilderment, when stunning self by consenting to the suggestion of one another.
Aka penitire/poenitire - "to make sorry" aka filling oneself with sorrow, when consenting to the suggestion of one another.
Sin/syn implies a synthesis aka synchronization of singular units together into a plurality.
If one joins a we, our; people, us etc. then one repents a sin, while dazing self in accordance with one another. Only letting go of the joint-venture called "consensus" allows one to atone aka to be at one, instead of being bound with one another.
