I think the timeline is close to the 1800's. Late 1800 seems to be the start of modern civs. i dont think the founding fathers are what we are told. But looks like they sure did find something. Worlds fairs were the redistribution and reintroduction of modern tech. BUT WHY DID THEY GET RID OF THE FUCKING AIR SHIPS????

400 years ago isnt really that long relatively. I would think if some global cataclysm happened even within the last 1000 years we would have more records and eyewitness accounts of it.

In Bowden’s History of the Society of Friends in America, it is mentioned that “two English Friends, named Christopher Holden and John Copeland came to Sandwhich on the 20th of the 6th month” of 1657[29] and there they found friends of toleration and resisters of an oppressive law in Daniel Wing.

There were lots of local calamity's happening though, just because we grew up in a relatively stable time doesnt mean earth has always been that way, or will always be.

Now largely under 40 feet of water, Port Royal, Jamaica, used to be known as "“the most wicked and sinful city in the world," complete with pirates (including the real Captain Morgan), prostitutes, and an extraordinarily potent spirit known as "Kill Devil Rum." That all changed when an earthquake in 1692 sucked most of the city into the ocean, killing around 2000 people and prompting wide-scale looting and violence among the survivors. The lost city is now considered to be a rich archaeological marvel, drawing comparisons to Pompeii.
