Absolutely nothing prevents all that Steams, eBays and so on just accept BTC/XMR as a payment, and accept it to their own address without even any intermediate and shitty Coinbase and alike "processors". It could be done by them in a few minutes, literally, and there will be an option "pay with BTC/XMR". This also allows effectively circumvent all that stupid sanctions and other shit and reopen sanctioned markets for them.
Since none of them done that, all their whining about "censorship" by "payment systems" is a pure hypocrisy.
If they really wanted to severely fuck all that "payment systems" cabal, they could do that years ago. Technology is stable and works without problems for more than decade. Those companies who really don't give a fuck to modern financial totalitarism, use it without any problems for years.
I rarely visit Japanese companies sites, not much Japanese things around me, mostly I'm looking for IC datasheets, and didn't notice any censorship, as with Western companies. Toshiba, Mitsubishi and other IC manufacturers sites didn't ban Russian visitors and their access to datasheets, appnotes and catalogues like Western ones.
And that's while Russia (as USSR legatee) still is in the official state of war with Japan since WWII.
There is absolutely no any difference in censorship due to state sanctions and due to wishes of some payment system bosses. There is exactly same people ("people") and intentions behind both, state and payment systems.

You have to ask all of the Japanese companies that banned foreigners from their site because of the payment processors that as well.

It has nothing to do with automobiles.
It's the independent NSFW and horror game industry and the anime industry they are targeting.
In their beliefs, those are nothing but idols and demons who teach fornication and adultery.
What they don't care is most people can moderate themselves no problem and the Greeks and Romans are not degenerate maniacs.
