It never lived to begin with. Internet is fake is something i can get behind.
I remember ICQ was a better internet messaging program than anything today. You'd get a number. about 7 digits like a phone number. The number stayed unique but you could change your username. Eventually AOL bought it and then ruined it. And before that there was mIRC which became corrupted with bots a long time ago before bots corrupted much of the rest of the internet.
ICQ 99b/2000b were the best. I still know my number, but they dont use those anymore. Was created in israel btw. Found that out recently.
I was an early user. I think my number was only 7 digits. i still remember mine too
