Yeah, this is pure BS.
I used to believe in the "EVs would liberate us and their downfall was the result of a conspiracy by Big Oil", but the reality is that you can't keep something this good a secret for too long and, when modern EVs finally released, we saw just why they weren't popular in the first place, despite the technology being far more superior than back in the days.
EVs are to keep you reliant on the grid and shut down your vehicle whenever they want.
Modern computer-controlled gas engines are just as easily manipulated as electric motors. Just ask Michael Hastings.
I don't have to check for an update every time I start my car, last I checked.
Not yet, but there's nothing stopping car companies from adding that "feature" to their whole fleet, no matter how they're powered. And subscription features, too Which is why I'll stick with older cars I can wrench on at home as long as I can, or until it's possible to completely jailbreak a car.
Nah they're just a grift used to suck on the government teat. It's not that deep.
