The answer is literally in the meme picture. The earth is tilted on its axis, which causes day length to vary throughout the year.
However, if you live on or near the equator, the days are always 12 hours long throughout the year.

a) Rotation implies an effect within the cause of "straight" motion, hence a differentiation of cause (tion) and effect (rota).
b) The flow of motion implies same cause for each differently shaped effect of form within, hence linear motion, circular motion, oscillatory motion, rotational motion, uniform motion, non-uniform motion, periodic motion etc.
c) A year cannot be "all", since it implies ones measurement of perceived differences among form within the same flow. The opposite of measure (living) implies extreme (dying)...holding onto measurements tempts one to ignore that.
d) Suggested axis (imaginary motionless straight line around which a body rotates) tempts ones consent to annex (connect with; bind to), while ignoring that a body (life) can only exist within a moving straight line (inception towards death).

In the flat closed system model, in the summer, the sun is more over your head, but a bit higher. In the winter it moves away from us, but decends a bit.
