Theosophy was really gaining ground at this time, too. Everyone talks about the 1960’s as this huge new age spiritual shift but the roots and seeds of this began in the 1890’s…
Known as the gay 90’s (not a joke look it up)
Of course the late 1800’s also had a viral pandemic and a huge stock market crash or two, both known as “Black Friday.”
Black Friday (1869), the Fisk–Gould Scandal, a US financial crisis
Black Friday (1873), the crash of the Vienna Stock Exchange that precipitated the Panic of 1873
(From 1889–1890, a worldwide respiratory viral pandemic took place, resulting in 300–900 million infections and 1 million deaths)
We tend to focus on the Spanish Flu, and the other black stock crashes.
It is most associated with October 24, 1929, known as "Black Thursday", when a record 12.9 million shares were traded on the NYSE in a single day (as compared to an average of four million),[1][2] and October 29, 1929, known as "Black Tuesday", when about 16.4 million shares were traded.[3]
Now, Black Friday means go out and commercialize Christmas by charging up the cards.
Everything goes back to the dutch tulip market and the chosen people who were excommunicated to new amsterdam (ny ny) to create their little scheme there.
Now you have Blackrock, ran by one of the tribe, using Aladdin’s algorythms (yes its an actual super computer named Aladdin because it controls d’jinn— it has its own wiki)
What are the odds all this shit would happen the same year?
1492 is considered to be a significant year in the history of the West, Europe, Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Spain, and the New World, among others, because of the number of significant events that took place.
The events which propelled the year into Western consciousness, listed below, include the completion of the Reconquista of Spain, Europe's (Spain) discovery of the New World, and the expulsion of Jews from Spain.
I read it quite a while ago but it would be an interesting re-read as it is very "political" and I wasn't quite as versed in "politics" at the time of reading.
Still, a good book, especially if you like Dumas.
I was just looking at his wiki, and he also has a book called Castle Eppstein; The Spectre Mother. Hmmmmmm......
Wow, pretty weird alright. Never heard of that one!
Also didn't know that there was another remake of the movie last year. I thought the Caviezel one was decent, although I thought that they could have stuck a little closer to the actual events in the novel. The remake director's name (Alexandre de La Patellière) is funny...same actual surname as Dumas.
I also wasn't aware that the Count was originally a serial novel (like Sherlock Holmes), and too that there were references to hashish and opium removed from abridged versions...like the Count serves hashish jam to someone. (from wiki---the Count (calling himself Sinbad the Sailor), calls it, "nothing less than the ambrosia which Hebe served at the table of Jupiter").
Dumas was a member of the Club des Hashischins in France too. Perhaps that could account for his rather singular use of words and perhaps even more so his levity.
After reading about the hashish jam though, it really makes me wonder what other things were whitewashed through abridgment, not just in this novel alone.
Well, on quick glance, if you are loaded up with laudanum all the time, nitrous probably isn't a huge stretch.
Ever hear of the Nitrous Mafia?
I went to a Phish show back in 2015, and they were there before the show. After the show, I had a LONG walk back to where I parked, and noticed cops in some very strategic positions and had a feeling they were gonna get busted...
Kinda boggles my mind that stuff like that is illegal, but what do I know?
I tend to keep myself on the organic end of the drug spectrum. God did give us the plants of the Earth for our use, and I highly suspect that marijuana is quite possibly the great tree that Enoch saw in heaven...with its "indescribable fragrance and goodness." From a Google search..."The Book of Enoch also mentions a tree for the righteous at the end-time. This tree is said to be as tall as a fir, with leaves like a carob, and fruit like clusters of a vine. Its fragrance is said to penetrate far beyond the tree."
I don't know about you, but to me that's pretty spot on. Kinda helps that cannabis has almost no lethality. :)
When I think of God as man and Jesus being a "hippie", I think that take might be very plausible. I would like to think that God is chill. ;)
Personally, I like really subtle highs, because it doesn’t change my personality and isn’t so intense that I want to do it regularly. I hate building tolerance to things and I build tolerances faster than anyone i’ve ever met.
I hate withdrawls from anything, that definitely changes your mood really quick.
If I drink ONE cup of coffee for three days, and I don’t have any on the 4th, I get headaches, mood swings, can’t focus, nausea, and low energy.
So now I have coffee every few days.
Have you ever seen the most peaceful loving cool hippie the day they can’t find weed or hit resin? Biggest assholes I’ve ever met. Violent, angry, and determined to make your day shitty.
Weed just made me want to overindulge.
When I was high, it made everything feel better. So naturally, porn, sex, food, highly emotional music, sleep, etc.
That’s just me, maybe. Some people get high and can remain chaste and moral. Even do their homework. Not me. I eat a strict diet of mostly organic foods. When I get high, I will go right out and get the worst junk foods possible and lots of them.
Have you ever ate 100 grams of pure unadulterated chocolate with no sugar or milk on a somewhat empty stomach?
Had Double bagged, steeped for 20 minutes chamomile tea?
Sat in a sauna until you almost pass out?
These are the subtle highs that I most enjoy. No side effects or longing for that same feeling/vibe the next day.
I've never met an asshole smoker, but I've seen a few on Reddit LOL. (mostly they tend to be Masons too...Miley Cyrus opened a pot bar, so obviously "bad" people are into it)
I don't really indulge in anything besides coffee, cigarettes, and weed...I spend my time fasting and reading for the most part. No porn, sex, very little food (I fast most days and haven't eaten today as of yet), very little sleep too.
Music I tend to stick to instrumentals mostly these days. Ulrich Schnauss is a really good one in that regard. I do eat pure chocolate on occasion and do drink teas as well, but unfortunately don't have access to a sauna. That'd be sweet.
I don't let drugs change my mentality about things, which is why I stayed away from heavy drugs my whole life. One of my first girlfriends eventually ended up alcoholic and a heroin addict, and even after she kicked them she just went ahead and got really fat. Got diabetes too.
I wonder if his best known works (which apparently stand apart on their own and are not indicative of his general writing) were "inspired" beyond just drugs.
Why the odd imagery of a woman waiting for her "demon-lover"?
Reminds me of Santana and Supernatural, which he claims he wrote by way of automatic writing (I think with the assistance of Metatron in his case).
a) Ought/ahte/agan - "to own; owe"...taking into possession represses the expressions of a being.
b) Thing/þing - "assembly"...God doesn't assemble beings; God (whole) separates each being (partial) from one another.
c) Ones consent to pluralism (things) selects the one suggesting it as "God of Things" aka as the assembling author.
billiken
a) BI (two) LIKE (same; equal; having the same form)
b) If one gives consent (want or not want) to a suggestion, then two sides (want vs not want) are being assembled together within a conflict of reason among consenting aka equalized ones.
Those who rub its belly will have good luck
Applying friction (to rub) to the belly/bhel (swelling) of a conflict gives good luck to the one outside of those lucked/locked in the bad conflict.
To buy a Billiken was said to give the purchaser luck, but to receive one as a gift would be better luck.
Buying a billiken implies investing into the shaping of a suggestion, which tempts others into a conflict of reason by selling themselves out.
Receiving a billiken implies others willingly entering into a conflict of reason already purchased...aka benefiting from generated interest/usury.
connection to jesuits
Each anointed one (Christ) is set apart from one another...consenting to suggested jesuism connects many together.
connection to freemasonry
A mason of free (will of choice) shapes suggestions to tempt the choice of others to bind self by consent to a conflict of reason, hence establishing a bi-like being out of each one differential.
new thought movement
New vs old implies circular movement of thought aka logic within self and reason against others.
Suggested NEW distracts one from perceivable NOW aka the momentum (inception towards death) of motion for each matter (life) within.
an idol created
Nature cannot create...all was before each one comes into being. Consenting to suggested creationism aka creatio ex nihilo ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Creatio_ex_nihilo ) implies idolatry.
Oh, and Hollywood— OF COURSE!
Seriously, read this entire article.

Fuck, I’m starting to rattle off like u/newfunturistic, only I am stone cold sober rn
lol

I should check these out. I really enjoyed Count of Monte Cristo and it’s weird anime adaptation Gankutsuo.

Did you know Samuel Taylor Coleridge was one of the first people in the world to try nitrous oxide/laughing gas?
Well, on quick glance, if you are loaded up with laudanum all the time, nitrous probably isn't a huge stretch.

Some people just have a death drive.
So, I talked to my mom earlier, brought up the Dumas stuff, and you know what she said to me?
"Did you know Samuel Taylor Coleridge was high as a kite when he wrote Kubla Khan?"
She couldn't even say what he was high on, either.
That's a pretty cool synchronicity, since we've not talked about Coleridge before. She is certainly well read though. :)
Yeah he never finished Kubla Khan. It’s considered classic lit and it’s unfinished.

That's before 'gay' meant sodomy
Yeah i know, but the 1990’s were actually gay—
I used to sing along to the flintstones theme song, then mama told me it now means something different lol
What does this have to do with this Billiken figure?
IYKYK!
(Insert meme of charlie from Always sunny with the map, pins, and yarn)
