You absolutely can do that, you can literally write "write a song that sounds like X and is about Y" and it will generate multiple songs for you in under a minute for free that sound quite good.
Also it does help you write lyrics (or will write them entirely) if you so choose which there's no way to know. You obviously have not used the tool or made music in the past so I'm uncertain where the confidence in your assertions is coming from.
I know how song generators work.
Song that sound good is not equal to song that you will like. Most songs written by people and AI sound good. Nobody need a song that sound bad. But very few songs you will like.
Also, he wrote text by himself, at least in songs I liked.
If you knew how they worked, I don't know why you would ask a question like that
