That's what I thought, 5 years ago. And 15 years before that and 25 years before that.
You gotta see the big picture: it's a long game for them. They want people out of the real world into the metaverse to do meaningless activities and train their AI robots. then they can be removed.
50% will go willingly, the rest 45% by force, 5% will resist and stay out in rural dispersed communities outside cities. This is already in their 10+ year old scenarios.
Dude, I am well versed with the VR market and technology. I literally ran a VR company.
Unless some technological miracle happens, VR will never, ever achieve a market penetration of 50%. The hype of the Metaverse time is over. Maybe in 10 years a new hype starts.
VR has been, is and for the foreseeable future will reman a niche technology.
The above video is just ONE of the many proposals for the same:
Virtual existence for you first in AR then in full VR (metaverse)
Your activities are "economic games", where you do quests like in an MMO, but now carry it out with software agents
You are at the same time training / validating AI algos, their models and future robots (through VR input devices)
Everything is tracked, everything is stored in blockchain, computed by AI and you mainly earn tokens, which you then deal and exchange for other goods
All this will be controlled, regulated and managed by AI
Of course, you will live in a 15 min city, which will be part of the 5% of land mass of earth, while the 95% remain out of bounds for you (unless you are a 0.01%-er).
This is what they are building metaverse, blockchains, token computation, token economics and AI control for.
You will still be herded cattle as before, now just in metaverse.
They are just waiting for:
finishing of the pieces of the software ecosystem
computational power to increase fast enough
quantum computing for simultaneous variable control to become available for them
enshittification of the real world, so that hope is lost and people will want to retreat to the metaverse
And when the time is right, they will just stop and reset this system, and introduce the TOKEN-AGI-METAVERSE as a replacement for people, along with CBDC, UBI, and the rest.
You didn't hear it first here.
This is merely a yearly remind amidst this Trump Assassination shiny object of the week, which btw changes NOTHING about the above. It's still 100% on track, regardless of which puppet gets elected.
VR is dead (again).
The small hype that there was, is already over.

The name sounds like self-deletion and it's exactly what it is. People on the metaverse don't reproduce.
Taking (consent) a token (suggestion) tempts one to ignore given (perception).
