I actually read your comment yesterday when that post was made on Reddit.
One thing that caught my eye the second time looking at the post was the wall of text someone wrote about Magnus Hirschfeld. They said that he gave safe hormonal treatments, and also that he successfully transplanted a uterus.
Hirschfeld was a EUGENICIST that visited human zoos! There's also no evidence that he successfully transplanted a uterus. Even a film about him showed that his attempts at transplanting ovaries and uteruses were "ill-conceived".
What are the chances that he would have been one of those "Nazi scientists" assimilated into the U.S. had he lived longer?
The wall of text whitewashed his history...what are the chances that he was performing his "experiments" ethically?
That just adds to the whole surprising nature of the thread from a meta-perspective. I mean, who goes around promoting Magnus Hirschfeld several decades after everyone's forgotten about him, for fuck's sake? Can you imagine being a fanboy somehow and just waiting around social media to work him in to the conversation? No real person such as that exists, right?
Okay, so it's like the ADL *or whoever) patrols social media. That makes sense, sure. But "nazis did in fact burn books" is on the profile under "must counter" with note "try to plug Magnus Hirschfeld"? When you think it through it's all so bizarre. You think they'd just call everyone who's slightly off the brainwashing a "fucking anti-semite" and go on their way.
Maybe it's just one of the last Holohoax legends where they think they can win an argument on the merits. I mean, I'm a hardcore conspiracy theorist and i had no doubt the Nazis burned books, right up until the very question that was the Reddit post occurred to me.
But instead of taking everyone's word for it, since I have a touch of the old autism (or what have you), I wanted the authoritative list, right from the National Socialists themselves. So that's what I went looking for and I guess small things like that can make all the difference... lol
I like the one comment on there that says they "burned any evidence of having gas chambers".
One then wonders why didn't just raze the buildings at Auschwitz, which were CLEARLY modified after the fact.
Which, you know, they use as evidence of gas chambers. LOL
Comments in there are pretty good. One even called Hirschfeld the Epstein of his era, which is rather plausible, seeing as how he was out on extended "tours" often.

Yes, I missed that about him and you're right.
