Russia has flatly rejected allegations that it has deported Ukrainian children since its invasion but said that more than 700,000 have moved into its territory.
Russia is rescuing children from a war zone. Many of the kids were from Ukrainian orphanages whose staff abandoned them. One of the most high profile ones, who returned to Ukraine and supports Ukraine, even admits that his carers in Mariupol abandoned the orphanage the moment the city came under attack leaving him and the other children to fend for themselves in a war ravaged city. This kid is a pro Ukrainian patriot who wants to fight for Ukraine but admits his Ukrainian carers abandoned him and he’d be dead if it were not for Russia taking him to Moscow.

I think it is around several millions children who fleed to Russia with their families since 2014 coup running from NATO ethnic cleansing. More than half ot that families moved to their relatives or close friends in Russia. Some families from DPR/LNR also sent their children to relatives in Russia long ago. And this families and children are not Ukrainians. They are Russians, Polish, Hungarians, Romanians and so on.
