Maybe Annunnaki gave humans awareness or "souls"/spirituality/consciousness, maybe humans ate 'shrooms, maybe Annunaki asked a favor of Dogon to contribute spirtiuality/consciousness, maybe spirituality/consciousness is inherent in matter.

The Annunnaki creating humans to mine gold is the most preposterous explanation IMO. It seems ridiculous that, while mastering space flight, and generic manipulation, they're still relying on manual labor to mine gold and not robots/machinery. Humans aren't anywhere near as advanced as the supposed Annunnaki and we have found gold mining methods more sophisticated than manual labor
