That was why she was hanging out of the car for a little while right after the shot. She instinctively climbed back there to scoop up her husband's brains and skull after it blew out the back of his head.

I don't know about any other assertions about Jakie's actions. To me it just looks like she is trying to escape the car from the back, moving away from the driver.
