my parents went through this as kids, it was given as a way to prevent head lices. supposedly. I heard that it is toxic now , as I started to look into the lies. anyone has any in depth documentary going through the lies and side effects? afaik it was used as a pesticide and probably we all inhale it now. sooo if it's put on the head it is safe? what's the truth?

More likely the lead and arsenic compounds used before DDT came around.
DDT was used heavily in WWII, and then in India and Africa. There were no polio epidemics following that.

Everything is a trade-off. The mosquitoes that carried malaria were almost eradicated but the damage to the ecosystem was enormous. I personally wouldn't want it anywhere near me or my family. I don't trust anything synthesized by man

I'm not sure what the truth is, but i was fascinated by the documentary "3 Billion and counting" on the subject.
It has been shown to possibly cure/treat certain types of cancer, and the guy who made the video actually ate a decent quantity of it in the documentary.
