He's wearing a toga because even back then men often thought of Rome. Also, there's some interesting correspondence in Washington's archives where he's warned that continental European Mason's lodges were being taken over by a group called the Illuminati. Who just coincidentally were founded in Bavaria in 1776.

There are 2 George Washingtons. Nobody is 100% sure what the original looked like unless we can find an encyclopedia from that era.
What happened is Adam Weishaupt went on the run from Europe and killed George Washington and pretended to be him. The local employees knew what was going on and didn't dare challenge him. The general population had no idea what Washington looked like.
Yes, I've seen that letter like a dozen times.
I believe it is cover, because that's the ONLY thing that people bring up on the matter.
Seems quite dubious.
I don't think Washington was a good guy, to be completely clear.
But did they dress in togas?
How come there's no sign of his Christianity?
Because he probably wasn't really a Christian.
