40 years? Only? I think it started in the 70s, when Nixon took US off the gold standard. That's 52 years ago. Yeah, long, drawn out affairs. British pound also took decades.

I think the death count of USD started when:

• US decided to weaponize SWIFT and USG bonds (2022)
• US decided not to honour ongoing bond obligations (2022)
• US printed more money than they can hope to pay back with actual non-financial GDP growth (2020-2023)
• BRICS++ started to account for more than half of the GDP, population, buying power, investments, GDP growth and population growth of the worlds (2020s)

Now it's a matter of for how long US can drag this out.

US will of course go to war over USD and their supremacy, just like all the other previous powers did.

And eventually US will lose, because empires always crumble from within.

But timing that is hard. Is it 10 years or 30 or something else. Dunno.
