When there are this many fires all starting across a broad region at the same time, one has to suspect orbital height energy weapon use. It's not like there are hordes of moose with cigarette lighters.
Do explain how hobos across 1000 miles all managed to light matches at the same time.

Raging forest fires after a drought are common in the Western America. Some plants need fire to break dormant seed. Next year or 2 we'll be reading about massive rainfall and landslides, and that's what caused the rivers to get filled with gold. A typical cycle is all this is.
