I like Douglas Adams' take on the music industry in hitchhiker' guide to the galaxy.
I have the book and have scanned it. Answer: Nuttin' in it.
It's typical fluff book-deal-piece from a nobody economist who got where he was by doing deals with the powerful.
It's a stupid book about stars, distribution of income, ways of getting income and the changes in distribution, income streams and delivery of music -> and how we could learn from the "efficient markets" of music biz.
13 charts with actual statistical data behind it, everything else is just fluff narrative bs based around his favourite old artists and a few new ones from music biz.
Typical book-deal book given as a reward for something: near zero content and completely useless from economics point of view.
Don't waste your time.
