Doesn't iPhones have proxinity sensor as most other smartphines? It is usually used to turn off backlight when user hold phone on ear. Could be used for sensing distance to face as well. I know that Apple gadgets are complete overpriced and unuseable garbage, but couldn't imagine that Apple managers saving money on fucking $0.5 proximity sensors and use camera for that purpose.
