It is bad, but today's no-stick coatings and ceramic pans are bad in their own way. Most people don't know the newest coatings release particles and chemicals into their food. Beware of Chinese-made non-stick ceramics and coatings.

The non-stick may be convenient but it is setting us up for later problems. Metal pans may be more work but are healthier. However copper does release heavy metal into food too.

If everyone learned how to properly use a pan, they could just fucking use stainless and it would be nonstick naturally. It's not hard. Even try out the Leidenfrost effect. It's quite neat. I bought an American made set and won't ever look back at the nonstick garbage. Most people don't even use nonstick right either. You're still supposed to preheat a pan and bring your food to somewhat room temp before cooking.
