If you go in the article, they talk about the soul existing in a dimension where time and space do not exist.
But they also believe in parallel universe's because they claim that when you die your consciousness may still be inhabiting another you in another universe. (Reminds of me of that movie with matt wahlberg, infinite. I thought it was a cool comment when he goes. "So what, your telling me dreams are me in parallel reality's?" Or something like that.)
They make the comparison of your brain to a tv receiver which is interesting because thats one of the subjects my old college professor used to talk about. He also used to say that there was a theory that we could all be sharing the life force of this planet. And that as more and more humans come into existence, the less animals there will be.
I absolutely loved that class. Alternative history's and religion's. I was proably the only one of a handful in the class who actually paid attention.
I kinda agree with your college professor. I also believe our brain is nothing more than a sophisticated antenna capable of receiving and also transmitting signals. After all, look at what our brain actually is, emulsified oils and other material elements (matter). In fact we are consciousness, trapped, bonded to Matter. Our body is Matter (Nature). So, our brains is Nature. Our mind is consciousness dancing across the electrical Nature of our brain and body.
Thinking can't and doesn't happen in the brain. It takes place somewhere else, which means you (your body & soul) is just one dimension of who you really are. The one that consciousness manifested in this reality we call Matterium (from matter). Your other dimension "the Thinker" is in the "Cloud" for lack of a better word. Think of this how AI is constructed and operates, after all they built AI based on the way humans were created. You interact with ChatGPT (AI) on your desktop or mobile device, that's the application, or receiver/sender mechanism. The computation & execution based on defined algorithm(s) happens somewhere else (the Cloud).
