The problem is the people that should know how to safely handle these meds do not.
Doctors dont know what they are handling for the most part. And very often they rely on drug reps to educate them when they have a question. Drug reps are just salesmen.
The system is very broken. Last I checked 125000 people a year die from hospital acquired illness. Before Covid. Thats people that came in healthy and died for something they caught in the hospital. Unacceptable.
Your absolutely right. I believe but cant back up, that addiction and increased use is intentional even though it ends in predictable death. Its increased sales.
Opioids are really effective. And now they are withheld from people getting minor surgeries because of the pressures.
Like politics we need good honest leaders, not snakey scumbags running things. Until we clear out the scumbags itll stay broke.
Before drug reps were severely restricted, they lied about how addictive these drugs were. I am lucky I don't have an addictive personality, I was Rx'd this for migraines back in the day. The effects we see today are the people that weren't so lucky.
You need to study up on the efficacy, spiraling out of control of adverse effects, marketing and lying about Oxy (by doctors).
It's not quite as simple as "misuse of drug by patients".
Although I do agree, in the end we alone are personally responsible: to see through the lies, to break away from addictions, to stop using killing shit (even if it's "according to prescription" and not misuse).
ive seen oxy ruin so many people... truly evil
The real gateway drug.
the real gateway drug is booze...
Yeah that too. The REAL REAL gateway drug is SUGAR if you wanna go back to basics.

People even have withdrawals from sugar. Addiction is an easily thrown around word, but a very detailed and studied topic.
