I view veterans differently after having realized our military's been hijacked to serve foreign interests as a mercenary for hire for over a century now.
I went from "thank yous sirs for protecting muh liberty and muh homeland"
to
"I hope they paid you well for doing a dangerous job as a hired mercenary and setting your own morals and principles aside and leaving your family behind to be a murder machine for zog."

We didn't do anything to Japan prior to Pearl Harbor but a trade embargo and minor support to Chinese forces by volunteers.
America increased sanctions after Japan allied with Germany for Oil thats wartime iffy , but Im isolationist AMerica didnt need to be getting involved in foreign affairs.
