Its been a while since I watched X-files. But one of the bigger hooks that got me curious was the subject of abductions and the mutilations. You know, spoiler alerts if you havent watched it.
Abductions were the result of mkultra research and programming people.
The mutilations were just to throw people off track and/or test new technologies or something.
I only ask, because on the Zerohedge article on this, the last line is this: "The discovery of the cattle resembles a storyline from an episode of "The X-Files." " And it made me pretty curious.

Don't remember altogether, but I THINK it's one of the new-ish ones. The half-season they filmed a few-eight years back.
