If you have read anything about the uss nimitz, you would know that they often see these things on radar, and they will send whoever is closest to go scope it out.
Then on top of that, they use highly specialized equipment, (thanks raytheon, lol) to track it. With no real reference point, or numbers given, its impossible to tell how big this object was. Looks like something about the size of a drone to me. Wasnt moving all that fast either. But who knows.
When they first started seeing these objects on radar, they would come in so fast into the atmosphere they thought someone had developed intercontinental missiles and was shooting them at us.
