The arrest of Brittney Griner in Russia—which, if you think about it, received media coverage almost as if Brittney had actually been kidnapped. And then the U.S. gov’t paid ransom in the form of an embarrassingly unequal prisoner swap.
In addition to the ‘crypto king’ kidnapping already linked, here are a few others recent ones….
Ok. I won’t bend over & totally retract my claim, but I’ll admit that I’m less confident about it today than I was a couple days ago when I initially posted it. And I’ll also concede that your explanation, obviously, seems more practical & likely. FJB.
