Recently, Montgomery County Police invited medical marijuana users to get high in front of some of its officers to help the officers learn how to spot drivers impaired by pot – a skill Montgomery County believes its officers will need even more with recreational marijuana coming to Maryland this summer.
"I'm very worried because I know unequivocally this is going to increase the amount of impaired drivers we have out on the streets," said Capt. Brian Dillman with Montgomery County Police Department at the January event.
Dillman said if other states with legal weed are any guide, the road ahead will have more impaired drivers with no standardized test for police to prove it.
Showing their ignorance, each strain has different side effects, and used properly a 1 for 1replacement for presciptions can be made.
I can understand where they are coming from. I wouldnt advocate for someone who has never smoked before, lighting up a joint and jumping in the car. They are gonna have a real bad time.
But the same can be said about prescribed narcotics as well cant it. Dont drive or operate heavy machinery until you know how this medication effects you. In some cases, like my father. He was a better and more rational driver when he was stoned. When he was not high, he would be driving a 100mph around backroad country turns. Almost shit myself more than a few times.
I'd love to prove this for law enforcement on a closed course. I personally dont smoke and drive and I dont advocate for it. Mainly because of the legality of it. But I would bet money that I could smoke a bong and still pass a drivers test. Or that my reactions times would still be several times faster than say someone who is over 60.
How the hell they gonna test for this anyway? Have a little blood checker built into the dash or what. Be like the glucose strips, you just replace the tip every time.
Saliva isnt really a good indicator due to so many different types of it. And of course its not going to be coming out of your breath, but I guess it would be possible to detect some level of burnt particulates.
The only sure fire way I know of is being taken to a hospital, or in canada I believe some cops are outfitted with training and supplies to do blood draws on the spot.
Absolutely retarded. It should be rather simple. If someone is driving like their fucked up, and you take them in and they have a substantial amount of anything in their systems, then charge them.
Otherwise, what are we gonna do, restrict everyone who is on some kind of narcotic as well?
In 2015–2016, 45.8% of the U.S. population used prescription drugs in the past 30 days
So they want to fine you for something that doesn't really cause the type of impairment they claim?
Typical.
It's like if I get in an accident at work tomorrow, they test for pot. If they find it, they don't pay. But...what if I smoked 21 days ago and it's still in my system? Doesn't matter.
It IS legal to smoke marijuana now. I guess just working for a major worldwide company is my contract that I won't smoke legal drugs THE WHOLE TIME I'm employed there.
Legality of the substance makes no difference when you are trying to dodge an insurance bullet I guess....
This is what it would look like though, I'm sure :
I had to explain to one workplace that I was taking a medication as Rx'd that was on their list if no' for situations you just described. I passed the drug screening because it was prescribed. So, after training I did not operate heavy machinery for the reason you just brought up. My team lead didn't mind. One of my friends explained to me that the only thing that matters was my test compared to my hiring tests. I preferred to do other tasks anyway. I didn't trust that place, and I certainly didn't trust the people at the top.
Yeah, weed is legalized in canada. Most jobs dont test for it, but the ones that do usually stipulate it in the job description.
That being said, when I worked in Appalachia for different temp agencys, I smoked weed, they knew it, they kept "testing" me and it kept coming back "negative". Leading me to believe most people dont actually care about weed, but more concerned about narcotics. Thats assuming of course the person can actually do their job and not have to get high at work.
When I was poisoned with freon, I let it slip to my cardiologist that I smoked about a gram a day. He asks me during a later visit, how could I stand the smell of the stuff. I told him, it helps me relax after a long day and helps my anxiety. He just says if it works for you.
WCB latched right onto that saying that was likely the source of my palpitations. I told them Id be happy to smoke a bong while hooked up to an ecg, but they declined.
The weed was the only thing keeping me calm during the entire ordeal. I likely would have blew my kidneys out or had a stroke if I hadnt been smoking the stuff.
I am actually more worried about how unregulated shit is.
As far as im aware, california is the only one that has an actual regulation in place to protect smokers. They randomly test different pot at the sites to make sure its free of contaminants.
They dont do that anywhere else that I know of. Something Canada should really take note of. But perhaps they want people to smoke this shit, fuck their lungs and then the government can say, see pot is so baddd.
What am I talking about, im sure some of you know already, I actually learned this from r/conspiracy back in the day.
Alot of these different "strains" are the same flower, just used with different pesticides and fertilizers. I have my doubts that some miracle grow is going to do much, but definetly some of the fungicides and insecticides used, I wouldnt doubt most of these idiots just spray it directly onto the flower, where it is then later consumed by the smoker. Igniting it causes many chemical reactions, and I have no doubt people are being poisoned by this stuff.
The government doesnt give a flying fuck. Neither does your average asshole trying to make money.
Have you never read strain geneologies? They are in no way the sms with only different chemicals. And I've mover had a dispensary anything that wasn't organic.
In the future your car dash will stick a dick out and you will have to suck it before you are allowed to be transported anywhere.
Dick dash...the English call em cock cars.
Dont forget the one that pounds your asshole while you ride.
Mr Garrison already has a patent!
