This is a lie, by the way. The best way to combat false information is to make the speaker feel like a creepy fucking reject loser for even thinking such a thing.
First you apply social sanctions, then you provide the correct information while linking it to a desirable trait. This is what smart, attractive, effective people do.

A lot of people seem to forget he is South African and watched his native country descend into civil war, even if from a distance.
