As many veterans told - they fight against Germans, not against some political views and don't give a fuck about Jews. And there was a second wave of WWII propaganda that appeared mostly after Stalin's death and long after end of WWII that targeted specifically political side of rivals and all that stuff. All that holohoax bullshit, tales about "multiethnic soviet people defeated nazism/facsism and stopped killing the Jews" and so on.
Putin for some reasons choose second kind of propaganda, despite obvious revelance of the first kind. NATO is an agressor who want to kill Russians, and that is why Russia have to resist and defeat NATO, not because NATO is opressing Jews who should be protected at any cost.
