The Central Bank of Nigeria launched its CBDC, called the eNaira, in the fall of 2021. Last October, Bloomberg reported that only about 0.5% of Nigerians had adopted the digital currency. >good.

I think they don't care about CBDC or whatever reason was behind government decision to create cash shortages, they care about inability to get cash.
CBDC overhyped, and I really still don't see how it really differ socially from existing credit/debit cards system, because absolutely everything that announced by both pro-CBDC and anti-CBDC as properties and abilities of CBDC is perfectly implementable in a second over regular credit/debit cards system without any need for any CBDC or whatever.
I think there is something else behind all that CBDC hype, really. May be kind of discreditation of the whole crypto idea among sheeple to prevent development and popularisation of independent money systems, f.e.
It's ridiculous how much shit customers give me when i simply ask that they pay me in cash.
I usually just tell them that I swore of banks because of their bad service, irresponsibility during great recession of 2008, high fees draining out my accounts that are supposed to be SAVINGS accounts, ridiculously low interest rates in compared to real inflation rate, their politics and choosing sides in wars, etc.
Having to explain any of this to a normie is frustrating. But it also gives me opportunity to redpill normies why they should not trust banks. Just the fact that they limit how much i can withdraw in one day is enough for me to not want them. If i want to withdraw $10,000 they give me shit.
