It's worse. A miscarriage is when the body detects an issue with the fetus and aborts the pregnancy. There are women that were able to bed rest themselves into maintaining the pregnancy despite their bodies attempt to miscarry.

Now we wait to see if we get the mutant babies. Some of the ones I know, the babies are already showing signs of issues.
