When I was in a western airport, it had been transformed from a border security facility to a medical screening/lab/thing. It was seriously creepy. People being taken out of the normal line and sent to other locations.
They didn't give a f about regular security. (Well, with the open borders.. it doesn't matter anyway).

Other people also reported that their kids had been taken and they had no contact with them as they were sent to secret off -site locations for unspecified periods of time.
Women were put in unlocked rooms so the men in the unit could rape them.

And even when the women were released to at-home jail, they had random visits from a supervisor or else be sent back to the facilities and fined. The supervisor would sometimes coerce sexual acts. There were some lawsuits happening but I don't know if the govt stepped in to intimidate the women.
