When lava is spewed in an eruption, it spins and and cools into spheroid shapes because that's the inherent result of such action. Geodes for example are spheroidal for this reason. They sank into the cooling mud. I'm curious what keeps the earth on a flat 'plane' so water doesn't run off the edge and why have we not flown under it?
