Thats why it can be percieved als a point but also as a wave. And even atoms are 99% empty iirc.
Chemistry is just a extension of nature. i mean the simple thing of boiling water so it becomes a gas is already chemistry.
i think the more interesting question here is: if atoms are real, why havent we figured out alchemy, in particular the base to noble transmutation of metals.
But giving the fact that its the base structure of molecules, sure they exist.
