No essential (edible) carbs. Ask people 10-30 years on keto carnivore who are a picture of Health and haven't eaten a skngle carb nor veggie in Years /decades.
No, we don't need fiber either.
Then go talk to low/no fat vegans who have gone crazy from myelin sheet demyelination and lack of cholesterol for their brain, sex hormones and exercise recovery. Or justnplain deficient EFAs.
High fat and high carbs is the no man's land that will kill all (eventually), although young athletes can get away with it for a couple of decades, if they burn a lot of calories. Very taxing on the cell metabolism though (you age faster).
And yes, I've tried also both, and feel now stupid for trying out low fat and not doing my due diligence first.
If you eat the right kinds of human compatible fats and you burn whar you consume, high fat with enough protein (full amino acid profile in balance) will most likely get you the longest /healthiest run.
We all die in the end, regardless.
Low fat high carb is just a way to do it quicker and through worse health.
