Cool, now do Salt Lake City, Utah.
I'd never heard it suggested that SLC was some sort of den of iniquity. All the Mormons I've ever met in person were The Nicest People Ever (seriously). But after just a few seconds research, I come across this:
'The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City' Is Getting Too Evil (Gawker 1/28/2022)
Good Lord, Gawker calls out in all earnestness that the show needs to be shut down? The only words that came to mind were these:
My first girlfriend's sister was lured into Mormonism by bicycle dudes, left her home and went to Utah.
She eventually got out, and ended up railing against the church quite vociferously online.
One thing I never really thought of is this...Mormons are "nice", IF you are a guy. Because they don't care about men, they care about accumulating women. Mormons don't have women doing the proselytizing, do they?
Ever read A Study in Scarlet (first Sherlock Holmes work)? I read that really young, and it really left an impression.
Thanks for the anecdote. I knew all the Masonic/Jewish associations, and the scumbaggery of the founders, but I never knew the darkness carried over so close to the surface in the modern day.
I've never read any Sherlock Holmes, or even watched any adaptations other than the recent Benedict Cucumberpatch version. But I'll take up "Scarlet" as my first foray into it, on the lookout for it being something more than an entertaining detective story.
Thanks for the tips!
Scumbaggery like you know something? By founders you must mean Brigham Young and his ilk. They killed the original leader while assassinating his character. Joseph Smith has done more for the salvation of mankind than any besides Jesus Christ himself. He laid the foundation for a great work which has yet to play out. Unfortunately, the church has been taken over by wicked men for now. When the California coast falls into the sea for judgment, Salt Lake City won't be far behind
