And that interference is changing if device is rotating, because light travel different distances if coil is rotating. That is how they are sensitive to rotation. To any rotation, including rotation of the Earth that is perfectly registered by that simple and cheap devices.

Unless interferometry is used to measure rotation speed comparing paths light pass in different directions. Suddenly, thanks to obvious geometry, the difference of light paths of stationary laser gyro coil depends on the angle of laser gyro coil to the rotation axis. And, suddenly, you have to position it nearly parallel to ground in high latitudes and nearly perpendicular closer to equator to get maximum reading because Earth is round and rotating. Easy as fuck. And verifyable with less than $100 and a weekend by anybody.
