If every one represents free will of choice, and if each one of the many willingly ignores that for the suggested choices by the few, then the few represents the "chosen ones", giving them disproportionate control over the willingly consenting many.

As for influence...not influence, but IN (within) FLUID aka being form (life) within flow (inception towards death). If the many ignore that, then the few can utilize the ignored flow to direct the ignoring form of the many towards death, which the ignorant many lack to comprehend, hence blaming it on "influence" by others.

How to sell life to go with the flow towards death? By suggesting progressivism towards outcomes such as goals; achievements; exponential growth; trophies; making it; survial of the fittest; revenge; retribution; paradise; heaven; order out of chaos; light at the end of the tunnel; justice served; escapism; being set free; a better world; love; peace; happiness; enlightenment; prices; absolution and so on.

Anything to motivate them to keep running away from the response-ability to sustain life by resisting the temptation of dying.
