Tesla has earned billions already through its regulatory carbon credit sales. This allows other automakers to meet emissions regulations and avoid billions in fines.
Tesla has been getting paid by other carmakers for selling its carbon credits for years whose names used to be a secret.
But a report from Bloomberg revealed two famous names. These are General Motors and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA). About how much exactly they’re buying, it’s between them and Tesla.
Tesla’s regulatory carbon credit sales account for over 20% of its profits this quarter.

What a racket.
Elong fanfags- "I love socialism but only when it solely benefits the uber rich and corporations, not your average American. I'd rather billionaires get their business propped up than get Healthcare and education."
Name me a single more or less large business owner who is not pure and absolute socialist.
They are all, without any exception, implement the worst kind of socialism on their enterprises, with all socialism features, from central planning and ideological propaganda to fixed salaries and absence of real rights and freedoms of workers.
If you imagine, that USSR was just a large corporation owned by a top communist patry leaders, then you will find absolutely no differences in the organisation of that corporation and any of modern corporations at all.
Large business is a socialism in pure form. There is nothing about capitalism inside it.
A large business still needs to sell a product that customers want at a price they want to pay. A government doesn't have to do that. The fundamental difference, not to be overlooked.
Note that these big Corporations are not terrorizing us independently, but only with the help of government. Because government is a different beast than Corporations with a different nature.
But somehow there is no any free market at all for large corporations. On a free market price of good is a result of negotiated compromise between seller and buyer. Try to negotiate price of anything produced by a large corporation. Hardly you will even get to the person who able to decide the price. If you are not buying a very large batch of product you absolutely have no any chances. That is exactly the same as socialistic "prices set by government".
Corporations terrorize their employees inside and totally deprive them from any decisions and control over top managers, exactly like socialist government terrorize their citizens-employees inside. No any difference at all.
What make you think so? Any government today is really a corporation that make profit by taking away huge part of what people earned. Even changing one government to another looks same as changing one empoyer to another. With all possible nuances. How is it different from corporation?
Its different because a corporation has to sell a product that people want at a price they can afford to pay. Walmart still has to have good prices inside or the customers go away. Government puts us into trillions in debt. Amazon still has anything you can think of at your house in 2 days with no shipping fee. As shitty as they might be to work for, they at least still have to consider the customer. Does socialist government have to consider you and get you good services?
