This is going to hurt them in shopping taxes. If the choice is London, or anywhere else... People will pick anywhere else. They are creating the same issue working from home created with taxes.

You shouldn't believe headlines.

You already have to pay to enter Central London in a car, this adds an additional fee if you vehicle is not ULEZ compliant - which for most vehicles, means made since 2015.

Toll roads were in the back of my mind. Your comment prett much proved my point. The choice between expensive London, and anywhere cheaper is getting that sales tax money.

Britons also already pay a yearly fixed fee for the emissions of their vehicles, and a 50% tax on fuel, and also 20% VAT (which is also paid on the other tax).

If Covid hadn't come around, we in Greater Manchester would, form last May, be paying £7.50 per day to drive inside the Manchester Emissions Zone, but that was postponed because of everything else going on. I was planning on buying my Mrs. an electric car which would have paid for itself I hoped.

You keep agreeing with me. I would choose everywhere else to shop.
