In the last one, you can actually see alot of cities, in the place where Victoria is suppose to be.And a reminder, that Lake Victor is 23,146 sq miles, or 60 000km in size, is allmost like a sea, you cannot just "miss" it on the map while discovering places in africa.

You literally can if

  1. It’s the 1500s, 1600s, or 1700s
  2. It’s a hostile continent where all the native fauna want you dead because you’re white
  3. Your surveying equipment is practically ancient technology.

So the conclusion i have made, something big like a massive meteor hit earth, directly in the spot where the current Victoria is found, or something from space directly hit the ground there in the year 1816.

An asteroid large enough to create Lake Victoria would be ~22 kilometers in diameter. That’s over twice the size of the one that caused the C-K Boundary and wiped out 90% of all life on Earth.

So no.
