In practice and in theory it is not a valuable way to organise. Democracy = dictatorship of the majority. In the current system it was a false promise (fake majority) which function was to put people asleep while corporate power works on making them believe the overlords own everything. However, they failed (see OPPT) and now they have nothing to offer apart from totalitarian/communist dystopia and living beings are not having any of it.
At the end of the communist era in Eastern Europe people were so brainwashed with western propaganda they signed up very easy for capitalism, was very fancy and shiny...now one needs to choose between being independent and sovereign or a slave. Let's see what the choice will be. I see more and more people opting for the first option.

There wasn't even supposed to be a standing national military. The armed citizens themselves were supposed to form their own militias in times of peace and stay vigilant.
I think at this point it is more of a spiritual war. This material plane is enemy territory and we are coming up to interesting times.
