looks like a hog but why is it so black… usually they look somewhat gray on night vision mode.

it was my game cam. it was really foggy this morning. I just thought it looked creepy…might be a hog. Definitely something killing hogs in the area. They scream loud. Might be coyotes but what can take down big hogs other than a pack and you usually hear them (coyotes) yipping when they get prey…all i heard was a screaming hog.
So the dark is the hog? Just curious, not trying to attack you, I've seen evidence of something that kills animals that are moderately large in the woods as well.
All i saw was a dead deer with one leg literally ripped off and the rest of the deer left behind. I looked all around for the leg, or remnants of it for hours and even got lost in the woods for a few hours myself, and found nothing.
I'm not even speculating here, just telling you what i saw and agreeing that it could be possible.
Ive never mentiomed this to anyone, it was decades ago and i almost forgot about it, but this.post brought it back.

Also possible someone shot a deer but missed the vitals, it ran 500 yards and go away. They couldn't track it. It died later. Buzzards picked away at half of it.
No the leg was blatantly ripped off of the rest of the carcass, it was gone. I lived in the country in a barn but I didn't go out in the woods for a while, that terrified me
There's a French movie from around 2004 called "Brotherhood of the Wolf."
It was a 18th century thriller where an expert hunter is brought in to track down a wolf that's slaughtering villagers throughout the land. He brings with him a Native American back from his explorations of the New World. He and the Native American track the wolf down, and find some esoteric cult in the process that summoned the wolf and trained it to kill.

I don’t know what it is. more of a tongue in cheek post and I thought it looked creepy. And you can tell it’s not a bug on the cam bc it’s behind the tree. I just looks too black. Usually if a hog shows up it’s gray. Thanks for the story! lol blair witch shows up I’ll just start blastin’. 😂
Whatever you zoomed in on, there's nothing for me to scale it. I don't know if it is a hog behind a twig or a huge elephant behind a maple.
