Biodynamics - alternative way to grow food and raise meat without modern fertilizer. I know wealthy farmers in different countries who use this... one a winery, which obviously wants profits, and one a large cattle free grazing farm. I helped out with the process. It was interesting. I love this shit.

I remember listening to a podcast if a guy who practices these techniques in his suburban yard, and all of the neighbors kept thinking his wife was a witch because the amount of plants they were able to grow didn’t seem natural.

If you need to grow food and there is no fertilizer, this is an option.

Mushrooms make some of the best fertilizer!

It definitely takes effort to create a large scale set up. I know a guy who has a system that collects rain water. He monitors the temp/ humidity in the grow room and some program alerts him to any changes.

He grows blue, pink, yellow mushrooms, oysters, lionsmane, chestnut, etc in sawdust. Put the spores on wood or sawdust.

There are some easy grow boxes on the market now for home use.... and for other types of mushrooms.

After harvesting the mushrooms and selling, he puts the saw dust into an area with worms etc and turns it. After a certain point he moves it to another location, keeps rotating it and then eventually it is done. So basically a combo of mushrooms and worms.

He then sells the mushroom /worms manure as another source of income. Nothing is wasted.

Good luck with your farm! What an exciting adventure! So much to create!

Note: Sulfur dust, diatomaceous earth are useful

And remember that some plants put together can help each other grow or deter pests.

If you ever want to bounce ideas off someone, I'm happy to be of service!

I've done a variety of things, unfortunately my location is wrong for me, so my dream is over. (Humans basically caused all my issues with their gossip, judgement, nosiness, jealousy, apite, etc). Avoid humans if possible.

But overall it was a wild ride!

Well... it depends on what level you want to take it. Steiner was a very spiritual and unique person. He saw connections in everything. You could take it as basically organic farming techniques...

When I helped create their fertilizer, they had big drums of water and put in pieces of manure from the previous year. The manure had been specially prepared in a cow horn with various minerals and at certain astronomical times.
The details are out there.

It had a feeling like an old community or Tribe thing. People would take turns turning the water with their arms. Clockwise, and then gently reverse to counter clockwise. Apparently the energies of the ingredients, people involved and the spirals of the water were important.

(Water can apparently be encoded. Spirals and water encoding is a big topic to dive into.)

It took about an afternoon I think, and then the group spread out across the land, each with a bucket of the water and .... I think it was some kind of stick. We then threw /sprayed water out of the bucket across the land using the stick thing.

So if you are Spiritual you can look at it in different ways.

Then after it was done, the landowner sent some water back to the other people who helped, for their garden etc.

I think around the same time they prepared the horn and manure for the next year.

I can't remember if it was Steiner or the farmers almanac/something but there are also certain moon times when you are supposed to do things or not do things. Like, maybe avoid cropping tails during full moons because they bleed more or something. Or moon phases when it is best to plant certain crops.

Lastly, another Biodynamic farm I know uses sheep instead of fertilizer and Mexicans.

So the sheep eat all the grass/weeds in and around the rows of wine grapes but don't eat the grape vines. The sheep continuously spread their manure berries around to organically fertilize the vines.

They don't need Mexican to weed ;)

Just kidding.

Anyway, they are a big wine operation.
