Right? Jesus fuck man! The media deserves exactly 0 percent of our time or effort. People don't know that starches turn to sugars in the digestive process? When did this become NOT common knowledge?
It's akin to "be careful stopping being alcoholic, it can be bad for yo health" line where that little % of you having some bad reaction to abstinence isn't worth the 99% reduction in fatal long term outcomes.
It's funny because they tell you the truth, but frame it in a way that gives you a mental out from adhering to it.
I was googling 'is vascularity good' this morning, every fucking 'answer' to it has 'but it's not a proof of health' appended after praising it as a positive.
They are ever so careful in not threading upon the delusions of the soy masses
Truth is they’re not wrong. High rice intake = high blood sugar = heart problems.
But the uglier truth is Asians love government = Asians take clot shots = Asians have myocarditis
The truth about rice is that most people don't rinse the rice of excess starch. Washing the rice before cooking reduces starch intake. Steaming rice helps more.
Wife is Asian. She detests government and has not taken a single clot shot.
Was wondering why our son in law taught us to rinse it so well. He didn’t know why- just said wash it until it runs clear. I remember asking him why and he said he didn’t know- that’s just how his mom does it. (She is maybe 5’ 95lbs. Still very healthy and good looking!)
We use the rice cooker. A Wolfgang Puck to be exact. Got it for like $3 on clearance, now I couldn’t live w/o it. The youngest one- who is just now leaning to cook- has told me more than once I wasn’t rinsing the rice until clear- like I was taught. It’s funny.
And I like the jasmine rice, especially with fish…. I don’t know why. But have used it for fried rice before, too- more than once. Depends on which one has the rice scoop, and which one I don’t have move stuff to get to in the pantry.
Some really old dude was looking for rice for rice pudding in the grocery store. (Blech.). He asked what kind and with my super limited experience with rice….. I said maybe try the jasmine, it’s skinnier and lighter and from I can imagine about rice pudding…. seems like a safe bet.
Tell that to every Asian on Earth lol
Since the discovery of rice itself.
Hong Kong and China top the charts for life expectancy. But yes, white rice is bad for your heart.

Submission Statement: The base premise sounds scary, but makes no sense.
A food shortage, hmm who could have seen that coming?

Now ya know!
Wash that rice before cooking!
Use a rice cooker as well, not a standard boiler.
Once the cooker finishes, fluff the rice before serving up.

Always wondered how that turned out.
That older man is wanting Cho, a rice dish for older people and toddlers in Thailand. Basically pasty rice.
Absolutely love Jasmine sticky rice. The taste, the texture, and it makes the best rice paper for spring rolls.
I haven’t made anything but the fried rice.
My entire rice knowledge before then could be boiled down to beef-tips and rice, chicken and rice, cabbage rolls, and Dolma.
But it’s fun to learn…. I’m loving it.
Want to have fun with Jasmine sweet rice? Sake!
I make homemade sake.
It is so easy and don't need a still!
