WEF Articles v0.99j
This is an offline program that searches all the WEF's articles from 2004 until present (Including the deleted ones). It's for Windows/DOS only but the database is formatted in JSON and can easily be read with Python (see README.txt). There's an update function that requires the internet to connect to weforum.org and grab the newest articles but all other functions are offline.
Screengrabs: Main Menu, Settings, Search, Search Results, Article View, README.txt
[Download] link already gone, here's a fresh one: https://gofile.io/d/nfjCdz
This is amazing thank you
You're very welcome. I understand that most people won't try it because it's a .exe but I don't know how to make websites so this is all I could do. It should work until WEF changes the backend of their website. And after that you can always search the database you have. I made this to make my life easier but it's good enough to share. Everyone should be armed with this, share anywhere you like.
If you can. Download everything and up it to archive.org and private file lockers as backup.
Every article is included in the link above (date, authors, descriptions, etc). Condensed into a single text file and zipped, it's only ~100MB. I made the program that searches/reads them as simple as possible and the database itself is an easily read text file (JSON). This is the first time I share this anywhere so please feel free to re-upload and spread.
I'll look into those hosts you mentioned.
100Mb easily can go to archive.org
Sounds good.
Seems archive.org thinks it's spam and won't let me upload.
"Your upload of wef-articles-v-0.99j from username ********@protonmail.com appears to be spam"
Interesting. Usually upload plain text files. So theyre searchable. They rezip and make a torrent.
Or maybe it's a new account.
It's a new account, must be it. I'm uploading a bunch of videos and I'll see if it'll let me upload it once I'm 'established'
Any chance you can just upload the text files as text files. Or batch convert to pdf.
Much larger readership that way.
Managed to get the files up on archive.org: https://archive.org/download/wef-articles-v0.99j/WEF_Articles_v0.99j/WEF_Articles_v0.99j.zip
I was looking into an Export PDF function for users to export whatever article they want. It might be a good idea to export them all, but it'll be massive. 46,000 PDFs would almost be unmanageable.
archive.org is pretty awesome. I'm wondering if there's a proper way to organize stuff though. I uploaded a bunch of video (each as an 'item') but it's hard to manage things properly after that. There will be about 150 'items' when it's all uploaded and that means 150 torrent files (some 1GB, some 200GBs).
~
Do you know of a way to combine these torrents or to move all the 'items' into a single 'item'? It's a powerful site but it's not that easy to get desired results. I'm hoping I don't have to reupload everything to get a single item and single torrent.
150 items is best. Good. The file names will be findable in search.
Most people. 99%. Do not want to download TB files. So breaking them up is better.
Thnx.
Thanks again. Finally posted it.
Here's the Archive account: https://archive.org/details/@classicnewsarchive
And I zipped all 187 torrents together for convenience: https://archive.org/download/wef-torrents/WEF_Torrents.zip
