(Yes I know this is a far left former us military. But listen. Sadly she HAS a point.)
I study genocide. It's been a theme in my academic endeavours for nearly 30 years. More accurately, I study the conditions in the lead up to genocide, be they cultural, social, political, economic, etc...
There's common themes and patterns. Usually it happens in an economically distressed country with falling standards of living for most people. Rising infant mortality is a good indicator variable
The politicians enacting it are populists who benefit from stirring Us vs. Them narratives, placing blame for the woes of the nation on others who are somehow less worthy. They yearn for a mythological past w/o these people. It's a highly viable tactic for shoring up support
The "others" are labeled as criminals, perverts, threats to women and children, disgusting, and generally unworthy of empathy. Anyone who supports the vulnerable minority is attacked with, "So you support the horrible things these degenerates do?"
This effectively undercuts anyone from speaking out, for fear of being labeled as sympathetic to a parade of horribles. The government also modifies the courts to ensure they will not block actions they take.
In the 20th and 21st century, genocide rarely goes from zero to all out slaughter in the blink of an eye. Even in Rwanda, the anti-Tutsi propaganda started in earnest in 1990. The plan for the slaughter began taking shape in 1992. Preparation began over a year ahead.
In countries where there is still something resembling a functional (ostensibly) elected government, the phases are slower. First, there's the propaganda, supported by things like government reporting of the crimes committed by the people they target.
Then there's public safety measures. Removing them from the military, and from federal service. Revoking clearances. Egging on stochastic intimidation and violence and failing to prosecute people who commit it.
Revoking basic civil rights once you have the courts in place to allow (or enact) it comes next. Establishing that the target group has less civil rights than every other member of the population, even de facto, adds legitimacy to what comes next.
Now that there's second class status, you can keep them out of the education system and deny them access to health care. Jobs are scarce. You can create vast zones where the minority is forbidden from public life. Make them carry/wear IDs identifying them as "other"
(If this sounds familiar, the Germans modeled their 1930's laws on those used to keep the US South segregated.)
Police harass and target the minority, and they are often arrested and abused with little reason. People disappear into the system. The goal of this is two fold: First is to get the public inured to these abuses. People disappear all the time, right? Second, and this is where genocide actually starts, is to get people to actually voluntarily pack up and leave the country, or actively hide who they are.
This is the beginnings of cultural genocide: the minority disappears from the culture because they have either left, or have gone underground. At the same time, the government is testing the world community to see how they react to other outrages.
Whether it's acts of military aggression, bellicose leaders, assassinating journalists, putting foreign nationals in filthy over crowded camps that are black holes; the country on the verge of genocide is looking to see if they can provoke a reaction. It almost never comes.
In part, because the groups targeted are ones that other countries simply don't care about either. Jews, Tutsis, gays, Roma, South Sudanese, the disabled, mentally ill, poverty stricken immigrants; they historically aren't worth starting a fight over.
At some point, the government determines or realizes that no one will intervene, and that there's no additional consequences to moving to the next steps: where they move to planning on how to get rid of the targeted population.
How they carry out mass killing is irrelevant, in the sense that it's way too late to do anything by this point, and that it doesn't follow a pattern. Sometimes it's camps and neglect. Guns. Machetes. Killing fields. Death marches. Sometimes it's all of the above.
What is interesting to me is watching for the warning signs
- Rising infant mortality
- Demonizing government propaganda
- Us v. Them narrative
- Mythological past free of a minority
- Populist government
- Breakdown of democratic norms
- Politicized court beholden to party
- Removing minority from federal service
- Legally establishing that minority doesn't have same rights as everyone else
- Encouraging stochastic violence
- Preventing access to health care system
- Preventing access to education
- Mandatory segregation from general population under penalty of law
- Requiring something that outs people as the minority (ID, worn item, name, etc)
- Random arrests
- Indefinite "black hole" detentions
- Testing to see if foreign governments will move to stop abuses
- Minority groups fleeing the country
However, if you're seeing these last two, it's probably already too late. I can't think of a time the world cut off a genocide at the pass, and global sentiment against refugees (SS St. Louis) means few escape.
Are you worried yet? You probably should be. Because I am very, very worried. I am not saying it will definitely happen, but the necessary conditions are there, and many of the precursor events are in motion.
And if you're wondering, this has EVERY BIT to do with covid world.
In Hong Kong, I fear it has reached the last 2 steps, and it only takes ONE NEW VARIANT for the WHO to declare a final solution that decides you should starve to death.
Ironically, the markings (masks and vaccine passports) are applied to EVERYONE. Not just say, Tutsis or Vietnamese (Khmer Rouge). Yes, YOU are the "minority" (inferiority) here.
a) STEWARD, noun - "to manage the domestic concerns"...concern within dominance represents being reacting choice within enacting balance, and it's the motion causing balance (momentum) which directs concerns aka manages the establishment of choice.
b) ASSU'ME, verb [Latin assumo, of ad and sumo, to take.] - "to take or take upon one. It differs from receive, in not implying an offer to give". Those who want to take (suggested) ignore the need to adapt to everything already given (perceivable).
It's the choices of the many who assume (taking), hence ignoring to adapt (having), which causes the few to become the chosen ones, thereby gaining stewardship over the ignorant many who each ignore utilizing choice; hence consenting to the suggested choices of others; following orders of leaders; binding themselves to the chain of command; respond as cattle to shepherds; as host to parasites etc.
a) planet represents suggested perspective by others; plane represents ones perceivable perspective.
b) REFER', verb - "to direct". Life represents the reaction within the direction of dying (inception towards death). When one refers; than one uses words to suggest meaning for perceivable sound aka affixed information for flowing inspiration aka fiction for reality...yet; such a suggestion requires consent by others; hence their reaction to consent to be directed by the suggestions of others.
c) velocity directs; resistance represents the momentary (momentum) free will of choice over directions (up/down; left/right; forwards/backwards). Only within that momentum can existence be experienced consciously.
These ancestral claims through descend represent ignorance of being center (choice) within momentum (balance). Life isn't descended from; but represents an impressing (process of dying) expression (living) as the temporary partial center of the ongoing whole. It's the temporary living who ascend (inception) and descend (death) out of and back into the same ongoing source.
The land represents form within flow; the lord represents choice within balance.
One exists within the natural order; the natural order represents that which just-is (justice), and those within the enacting natural order (dying) represent reactions (living).
The few suggest the many to follow orders; to believe in justice by judgement and to mimic actors; while ignoring the sleight of hand...being directed implies being reaction...not action. Why does that deception work? Because action (ongoing) doesn't require the suggested label "action" to be perceivable by the reactions (perceiving) within.
Aka one takes (assumes); while blaming others for taking. Underneath that operates ones the lack of comprehending that all represents one in energy. Instead; one is being tempted to ignore perceivable wholeness for suggested individualism (I and they).
Recent sleight of hand from Billie Eilish - "Therefore I Am"...
"Stop, what the hell are you talking about?" (suggested words over perceivable sound)
"Get my pretty name outta your mouth" (one resisting suggested)
"We are not the same with or without" (wanting or not wanting suggested sameness doesn't define being perceptibly different)
"I think, therefore, I am..I'm not your friend or anything, damn" (I am, therefore out of, no matter what others suggest)
a) To know represents the perceivable consequences of living within the process of dying; which implies adaptation to perceivable (inspiration) representing self sustenance, which doesn't represent protection from; but resistance (living) within temptation (dying).
b) The PROTECT (cover) -ATION (through action) represents the momentum (balance) which separates enacting (flow) from reacting (form). Balance represents the cover for choice; hence representing the ongoing foundation for temporary existence of choice.
c) "from something" represents the want for outcome (suggested something); while ignoring the need to adapt to origin (everything perceivable).
Dying represents the generator for everything living within it. "nothing" represents the suggested inversion of perceivable everything and being scared of suggested outcomes represents the choice to ignore perceivable origin.
Death represents the source of fear; yet life represents the resistance within the temptation of dying...which implies resisting as free will of choice (need) or ignoring it for being afraid (want).
a) life doesn't stand under the process of dying; it grows out of it.
b) the many are being tempted to stand under (understanding) the suggestions of the few; while ignoring to grow comprehension within perceivable.
If A (ignoring perceivable) and B (consenting to suggested) then C (fearing outcome based on ignoring to resist origin).
...then what would inspire one to grow if one already "owns" everything? It's ongoing loss (process of dying) which inspires temporary growth (living).
Ownership implies the ship as the vessel being owned by the momentum of motion. Nobody on the ship can own it for it represents a temporary vessel within ongoing motion; yet being temporary requires resisting the ongoing, hence having the choice to also ignore resisting. Therefore one can suggest ownership and other ones can be tempted to consent to suggested ownership, but no one can own anything temporary within everything ongoing.
What if the process of dying represents the untainted natural order; while the living represent the tainted within; hence struggling to sustain themselves?
Sleight of hand...
"And I've lost my light (comprehension)...For I toss and turn (imbalance)...I can't sleep at night (lack of balance through ignorance)..."tainted love" (to infect with want) ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZVpR3Pk-r8
That which just is represents the origin for the opportunity to experience; to be alive, and to express REALM, noun [Latin rex, king, whence regalis, royal.] - "a royal jurisdiction or extent of government" aka choice represents the jurisdiction to extent control over mind (memory) within the momentum (balance) of motion.
a) when did I ever read something and then formed a response to it? Nah; I adapt one the fly to what inspires while reading; hence the specification on individual expression of sound through words; which in return allows one to perceive; comprehend and shape all the contradictions made through suggested words.
b) choice represents the deepest position within a balance based system.
c) the flow state of energy (loss; process of dying); doesn't CONTEXT, noun "to weave together"...it self differentiates; hence causing partial (living) within whole (dying). Momentum partializes velocity into resistance...all within energy (internal power).
Your choice represents the center of a balance, caused by a motion, which communicates perceivable sound...not suggested words.
If one comprehends energy; then "they are" ignores what "is". If all represents one in energy; then plural perceived implies within singular source. What's missing? Self discernment of being ONE (singular perceiving) within ONEness (singular perceivable). Sleight of hand: "alone" ALL (in) ONE.
Discernment through comprehension of perceivable has to be grown as choice through adaptation to perceivable (need) over suggested (want). The shortcut of "understanding" the suggested information by others doesn't represent growth, but the willing repression thereof; hence lack to resist loss.
a) CONCEPTION, noun - "formation of the embryo or fetus of an animal" implies formation (living) through animation (process of dying). One doesn't present concepts; one represents the conceived.
b) IMPO'RT, verb [Latin importo; in and porto] - "to bring from a jurisdiction into one's own country" represents allegory for living being brought into the jurisdiction of dying. Choice exist "in porto" of balance aka balance represents the port for the vessel of choice.
c) suggested "more" tempts one to ignore perceivable "whole; all; everything; source of generation; energy"
