You are way out in left field an very off topic. Yes, there are checks and balances, but no, none of those have ever been put to the test like you say with regard to the classification powers of the president.

They have. Simple UFOs what happened there. It went to the Senate first before being released, and then they came out with, they're UFOs, more proof is needed. Umm gee chuck, well darn it. Drops a few files, and they've been redacted, or member when we got paid, it was great, because we saw something, something it is, and umm we just can't prove or disprove them, but they just need some more pictures and some more taxes. Or every enthusiast will claim they're being invaded by phenomenon. So we'll just open up another agency to really search more for them so they can release what's needed for the increased taxes. And we can call it, skinwalker ranch. It's a wolf but it could be a shape-shifter, a few more aliens are needed. What about JFK. Redacted. So if it was the Nukes. Not happening.

Classification, is an oath. Or it's a bunch of files often on what hamper was eaten at the office picnic. They had lunch on the lawn. It is top secret. Or poor Boris.

I get it, there is difference between law on the books and law on the ground.

But you're still wrong in this instance on the technical legal matter.

Moreover:

In the WSJ, David B. Rivkin Jr. and Lee A. Casey argue persuasively that the Presidential Records Act give Trump the right to access his own papers, thereby nullifying the crap bullshit the FBI got their warrant on.

Perhaps, but as in every case. There's always another case. In any case the status of them from my original comment is debatable and ironic.

What is the classification on the office hamper. It probably is a bunch of mundane stuff, like the Whitehouse Christmas trees, and the renovations he ordered. Probably a few schedules, and trips, etc. If it was full of secrets, they wouldn't have been taken when he moved out. Would they?

But in any case it is ironic. It goes to back to court to be declassified? His own papers accessed by him. Stored where, and on what authority? Back to court. Yawn.
